Automation Controls Engineer

Requirements: Automation Controls Engineer with 3+ years of experience with industrial control systems. BSEE preferred but not necessary in lieu of experience. Must have machine control circuit design and hands on PLC/HMI programming experience. Must be proficient in control system design, bill of material development and know control system hardware requirements. Knowledge of Autocad, vision, hydraulic and pneumatic systems a plus.

Must have excellent communication skills and strong analytical problem solving skills.This position will be responsible for:

• Developing new or modifying existing control systems.
• Troubleshooting and debug.
• Installation at customer facilities. Travel is domestic and international and is anticipated to range up to 30% annually.

Technical Manager

1. Provide strong and effective technical and management leadership
for assigned projects including:

• Attend the sales job kickoff meetings as new jobs are introduced to the company.

• Accept the job documents consisting of the Litzler proposal, customer specifications, Litzler labor and material budgets, and other documents relating to the job. Read and understand the documents and keep them in an organized manner.

• Lead the internal technical kickoff meeting where the Design Information Document (DID) is prepared along with the Bill of Material (BOM) index.

• Distribute the engineering labor hours over the BOM index and work with the Team Leader to develop the overall job schedule.

• Provide any required engineering design calculations for the assigned work. Other engineering staff members may assist or do the calculations if required.

• Assign work to the Engineering Designers and monitor their efforts regarding time and content.

• Attend weekly Production Meetings and advise current status of assigned jobs.

• Communicate directly with customers regarding technical aspects of jobs.

• Involve V.P. Engineering in design discussions during the course of the design work to minimize last minute changes.

• Work with the Engineering Assistant to assemble and complete the job manuals as required by the schedule.

• Attend technical review meetings with the customer at Litzler or at customer location.

2. Interface with the Purchasing Department.

• Assist in effort to release BOMs and drawings for long delivery items.
• Assist purchasing as required obtaining quotes for various components.
• Coordinate vendor visits with purchasing.

3. Interface with the Shop.
• Assist shop personnel in assembly questions.
• Attend equipment inspections prior to shipment.
• Provide functional equipment testing prior to shipment if required.

4. Interface with Litzler Field Service.
• Provide backup for field service when necessary. Long duration start-up service is not considered part of this responsibility.

5. Support of Sales.
• Assist sales with technical support for proposals. This can take the form of proposal review, estimating engineering time, creation of sales drawings, or travel with the sales staff for customer meetings.
